Philosophy / Goal

理念・目標
The mission of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University, is "By bringing together the wisdom learned from life, water, soil, forests, and the earth, and passing it on to the next generation as a human asset, we will realize the evolving agronomics that aims for the rich coexistence of mankind and the global environment." Through education and research on biological resources and the environment, international cooperation, and social cooperation, it aims to contribute to the stable supply of food and living materials, the conservation of the living environment, and the health and welfare of mankind.

To enable a more flexible education and research system, Kyushu University has divided the organizations to which faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates belong into three organizations: Faculty, Graduate Schools, and Undergraduate, respectively.

The School of Agriculture of Kyushu University is engaged in education and research activities in order to develop diverse human resources with abundant ability to explore issues and a sense of balance, in addition to internationally recognized expertise and technology in various fields of study related to biological production, biological functions, and the biological environment.

Campus Life

Agricultural science is the science of biological production and utilization, spanning a wide range of disciplines including life sciences, environmental chemistry, marine sciences, and management sciences. It is an applied science that covers agriculture in the broadest sense, including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, livestock, and related secondary processing. Therefore, the research and education at the Faculty of Agriculture, although small, is a kind of comprehensive university. However, it is a general university with "agriculture in the broadest sense" as its common theme.
