History

Brief History

The Faculty of Agriculture at Kyushu University was established in February 1919, and began offering courses in April 1921, with one department and ten courses. Since then, as a key university located in close proximity to the monsoon Asian region, the department has developed in terms of the quality and quantity of education and research, and has repeatedly expanded and extended its departments and courses. In 2000, with the intention of facilitating the promotion of interdisciplinary and international research in response to the development of new academic fields, a major reorganization was carried out with the introduction of a graduate school and research institute system. The timeline of the Faculty of Agriculture since its foundation is as follows.
