Outline Activities

Study of membrane traffic in Aspergillus oryzae to produce valuable materials.

Message

The molecular and cellular physiology of Aspergillus oryzae, an essential microorganism in the fermentation and brewing industry in Japan and a "national fungus", has yet to be elucidated in many respects. We are deepening our understanding of these points through multifaceted research approaches and aiming at molecular breeding of A. oryzae that can be used more effectively in the fermentation and brewing industry.
