Outline Activities
We have focused on (1) coordinate gene expression among nucleus, chloroplast and mitochondria in plants, and (2) development of designer RNA/DNA binding protein and the use as genome engineering techniques in various practical area.
The detailed research subjects are,
- Transcriptome editing: basic research and therapeutic application of long non-coding RNA and translation in mammalian cells.
- Genome editing: Production of useful crops.
Message
The determination of genome sequences of various organisms and development of gene editing technology opened new era in both basic and applied biology.
