“Biodiversity of microlepidoptera, especially leaf-mining moth”

Profile

Outline Activities

I’m mainly working on the taxonomy and phylogeny of microlepidoptera, especially on the leaf-mining moth (Lepidoptera).
My current interest is to clarify the phylogenetic pattern and adaptive significance of the diverse leaf-mining habits, e.g., various feeding parts (leaf blade, vain, petiole, and twig) and shapes of mines (linear, contorted, and blotch).
I’m also interested in the taxa, e.g., Tineidae, which evolved to feed on dead plants, fungi, feathers, and guano without feeding on living plants.
