Profile
Outline Activities
Research
Research and development of catalytic carbohydrate conversion, functional molecule extraction, freeze-drying acceleration technology, etc., using technology that precisely controls microwave heating.
Synchrotron-based "in situ" observations (XAFS, XRD, SAXS) to elucidate the mechanism by which microwaves accelerate reactions.
Research and development of new microwave catalytic reaction processes based on theory.
Lectures
Experimental methods related to chemical engineering and machinery involved in food processing.
Message
Based on my research background in agriculture and engineering, we are approaching innovative material conversion processes that combine “agri-bio” and “catalysis” to produce foods, pharmaceuticals, fine-chemicals, materials, fuels, and carbon storage from renewable resources such as biomass, bio-methane, bio-hydrogen, and CO2.
