Research Interests

"Morphological evolution of vertebrate limbs (evo-devo, comparative morphology)"
"Motor control of vertebrate limbs (neurophysiology)"

Profile

Outline Activities

For dinosaurs, specialization of standing posture and walking style played an important role in their evolutionary history. By studying living animals (birds and reptiles), I am clarifying the evolutionary history of dinosaur movement from two perspectives: (1) the evolution of morphogenesis (embryonic development) of the locomotor system, and (2) the evolution of motor control (by the nervous system).
In addition, through bird movement researches, I aim to improve the productivity of poultry industry.
