Profile
Outline Activities
Understanding how tissues and cells develop and maintain their normal functions is essential for improving livestock health and productivity and promoting sustainable meat production. Using chickens as a model, I study the mechanisms underlying the development and differentiation of smooth muscle in the gizzard during embryonic development. In particular, I focus on Connexin43 (Cx43), a protein involved in intercellular communication, and investigate the relationship between its expression and subcellular localization and the phenotypes of smooth muscle cells.
Message
Starting with the question, “Where do cells come from, how do they acquire their functions, and what determines their fate?”, I aim to deepen my research step by step. By incorporating insights from different fields, I look forward to discovering new questions and exploring new possibilities for research together with you all.
