Profile

Outline Activities

Research fields are to clear the physical process of sediment movement in mountainous area, to develop efficient structural measures against sediment-related disasters, and to develop an integrated sediment management system in the river basin and coastal area. Member of the Japan Society of Erosion Control Engineering, the Japan Society for Simulation Technology, and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. Emergency Technical Adviser for the natural disasters – TEC-DOCTOR – of the Kyushu Regional Office, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Member of the River and Sabo Recovery Work Technical Committee, and the committee for Evaluating Master Plan for Preventing Sediment-related Disasters in the Aso mountains area in Kumamoto Prefecture.
