"Application of cytochrome P450 monooxygenase and sesquiterpene synthase"

Profile

Outline Activities

Fungi are potentially useful for bioconversion/bioproduction of various chemicals. We are focusing on unique and superior activities of fungi to utilize their enzymes in biotechnology sector. In particular, we are working on fungal biotechnology using cytochrome P450 monooxygenases and sesquiterpene synthases.
We have succeeded in constructing functional library of cytochrome P450 monooxygenases and sesquiterpene synthases isolated from filamentous fungi. The functional library of fungal enzymes is promising to develop novel bioprocesses such as effective conversion of chemicals and rational synthesis of rare natural compounds.
