Research Interests

"Organelle gene expression"
"RNA binding protein"
"Plant Bioengineering"

Profile

Outline Activities

・Investigation of the biological functions of the plant organellar genes, with a focus on traits such as cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS).
・Study of the mode of action of PPR proteins, a large family of RNA-binding proteins essential for chloroplast and mitochondrial gene expression in plants
・Development of a synthetic biological toolkit to regulate gene expression in plants.
・Bridging the gap between fundamental plant molecular biology and practical applications in medicine and climate-resilient agriculture.

Message

Plants have developed incredibly sophisticated ways to regulate their genomes. Let’s explore these biological mechanisms together to find solutions for climate-resilient agriculture.
