Today, Japan and many other countries have an economic system called "capitalism. The capitalist economic system was established in the 19th century in the United Kingdom and has gradually developed while spreading to other countries in the world. While the capitalist economy has developed, the agricultural sector has not easily become capitalized. In terms of productivity, the agricultural sector has tended to lag behind the industrial sector, which has caused various political and economic problems both domestically and internationally.
In our field, we critically examine existing agricultural policies and clarify their issues in order to overcome problems related to agriculture that have arisen under modern capitalist economies. Additionally, we seek solutions to problems in the agricultural sector by analyzing trends in cooperatives, social movements, and endogenous development in the field.
