Research Interests

1. Insect dispersed kinetochore
2. Genes with unknown function (Pearsoni gene)
3. Analysis of epigenetic control mechanisms
4. Analysis of molecular mechanism of autophagy
5. Post-translational modification
6. Development of novel technologies in insect cells using genetic engineering techniques
7. Silkworm-baculovirus expression system
8. Silkworm-baculovirus expression system (other protein production)

Our research is mainly conducted in the silkworm, a model insect, to analyze chromosome structure and epigenetic regulatory function, to develop useful substance production systems, and to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of insect physiology.
