Forest Resources Management

We are conducting education and research on the creation of forest production control technologies for forest ecosystem conservation and sustainable use of forest resources, utilizing Kyushu University Forests in Fukuoka, Miyazaki, and Hokkaido.

Research Interests

1. Growth, wood formation, tree form, water physiology, and mechanical properties of trees and vines
2. Natural and human disturbance and forest dynamics
3. Biodiversity conservation
4. Wood quality assessment and control, and wood biomass utilization　

Six faculty members with various specialties (dendrology, wood science, tree and plant physiology, population, community, and ecosystem ecology) are affiliated with the Kasuya, Shiiba, and Ashoro Research Forests of Kyushu University Forest to conduct education and research.
