Food System Research
Due to the nature of food distribution, the food system is complex, and we conduct education and research on its efficiency, stability, and food safety from the perspective of distribution economics.

Research Interests
1. Institutions, organizations, and functions of food systems
2. Strategic behaviors of entities consisting food system
3. Wholesale market system and contract transaction
4. Institutional design to ensure food safety
The food system is constructed through strategic interdependencies among numerous and diverse players involved in food distribution, spanning from upstream to downstream sectors. The individually rational behavior of each player does not necessarily lead to the overall optimization of the system. This research area aims to elucidate the behavioral principles of each player and to explore institutional and contractual designs that promote systemic optimization. To achieve this, we conduct empirical investigations into the actual, often opaque, mechanisms of food distribution and analyze the interdependencies among players using mathematical modeling.
