On February 17, 2026 (Tuesday), the Kyushu University Faculty of Agriculture concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement with the Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). The purpose of this agreement is to promote academic research and human resource development.

The Faculty of Agriculture and the Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office have long cooperated in a wide range of areas, including the promotion of national projects related to agricultural infrastructure development, rural revitalization, and farmland disaster prevention, as well as hosting site visits and internships.

This new agreement further strengthens and expands these collaborations to include production promotion, management and business support, and agricultural product safety management. The partnership aims to drive technological innovation that contributes to ensuring stable food supply, nurture human resources who will lead the revitalization of Japan's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors, and promote the sustainable development of agriculture and rural communities in the Kyushu region. In particular, the joint advancement of smart agriculture, reskilling of professional personnel to adapt to technological innovations including digital transformation (DX), and the enhancement of recurrent education for agricultural workers are expected outcomes. Additionally, the agreement will support joint fieldwork activities, co-hosted symposiums, and other initiatives that foster education and research in collaboration with local communities.

Going forward, through strengthened collaboration with the Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office, we will continue to promote environmentally harmonious agricultural development and the cultivation of human resources who will support stable food production. Furthermore, leveraging the "integrated knowledge" that expands from Kyushu to Japan, Asia, and the world, we aim to drive social transformation while advancing internationally recognized research and creating new value for the economy and society.
