[Topics] International Students from Hong Kong Baptist University Visit Kyushu University's Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture at Kyushu University (KU) welcomed a delegation of international students and faculty from Department of Geography (GEOG) and College of International Education (CIE), Hong Kong Baptist University for a one-day academic and educational exchange on 18 June 2025. The visit was part of the faculty's ongoing efforts to promote global collaboration and cross-cultural understanding in the fields of agriculture, sustainability, and education.
The program began with a campus tour of the Ito Campus, introducing guests to some key facilities, such as hydrogen station and university farms. This provided a meaningful look into the academic environment and infrastructure that support Kyushu University's research and education.

An official welcome followed at midday, with opening remarks by Dean, Prof. Takahiro Kusakabe, who highlighted the university's rich history in agricultural innovation and its commitment to international cooperation. He emphasized the importance of building relationships that go beyond borders through shared academic interests and long-term dialogue.

The afternoon featured a series of guest lectures on global themes such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), bioresource management, and environmental challenges. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for both reflection and knowledge exchange among students and faculty alike. While students participated in a university life exchange session, faculty members from both institutions engaged in discussions about future collaboration. Topics included research alignment, exchange possibilities, and the development of joint academic initiatives.

The visit concluded with closing remarks from the coordinator Dr. William TSE (Associate Professor, Center for Promotion of International Education and Research, Faculty of Agriculture), who expressed appreciation for the active engagement throughout the day and encouraged continued partnership between the two institutions. The visit not only strengthened mutual understanding but also laid the foundation for deeper academic collaborations in the future.
