Professor Toshiro Matsui received the Iijima Tojuro Food Science Award.
We are pleased to announce that Professor Toshiro Matsui of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University, has received the "Iijima Tojuro Food Science Award".
The Iijima Tojuro Food Science Award recognizes active researchers or research groups for their outstanding achievements in food science, particularly in academic research on ingredients, processing technology, quality, safety, nutrition, and function of foods made from rice, wheat, and other major food crops, and in the development of food technology.
Professor Toshiro Matsui's research, which was the subject of the award, is "Analytical Chemical Studies on the Bio-Regulatory Functions and Bio-Accessibility of Peptides. This research has revealed that low-molecular-weight peptides are bioavailable and effective in preventing cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, and was highly evaluated as a pioneering achievement that will lead peptide biology.
The award ceremony was held on Friday, April 14, 2023.
