Ventuno Inc. has focused on the nutrients contained in seaweed and their health value since its inception, and established the Endowed Chair of Analytical Food Immunoscience (formerly the Endowed Chair of Functional Polysaccharide Analysis) at the Faculty of Agriculture of Kyushu University in 2016.
Led by Associate Professor Yoshiyuki Miyazaki, this endowed chair conducts research on the functionality of "food components that improve immunity" and develops analytical techniques that contribute to their quality control and effective utilization.
The department has conducted numerous studies on the immunomodulatory functions of food ingredients, and with the appointment of Dr. Tachikawa as a visiting professor, the department will build an even stronger research system.
Dr. Tachikawa will support basic research on food functionality from a medical perspective as a clinician, and the Ventuno x Analytical Food Immunoscience Endowed Chair will work together to conduct food science research at the Graduate School of Agricultural Science, educate the public about the results of such research, and train young researchers.
