Program Content | This summer, why don't you improve your English skills and international mindset at the University of Queensland and Queens College in Brisbane, Australia? This popular program includes 5 weeks of language training and homestay with a local family, allowing you to experience not only English, but also Australian culture and lifestyle in depth. In the classes, you will learn English with your peers from all over the world and experience diverse values while strengthening your four skills of listening, writing, speaking, and reading in a well-balanced manner in level-based classes. Students will participate in tours, workshops, and practical training in university laboratories on the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture. Special lectures in environmental and life sciences are also scheduled, providing students with ample opportunities for academic learning. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with local University of Queensland (UQ) students, and various events, including barbecues, will help them build connections beyond the departmental boundaries. This is a fruitful summer program recommended for those who want to learn English, are interested in overseas universities and research, and want to challenge international exchange. ■Monday-Friday Morning: 8:15-12:45 English skill improvement class with students from all over the world Afternoon: Interaction with UQ students, introduction to undergraduate laboratories and laboratory visits, or free time ■Saturday and Sunday: Free time (workshops and other activities may be scheduled) |
Eligibility | Students of the Faculty of Agriculture and graduate students of the Graduate School of Bioresource and Environmental Studies at Kyushu University *Non-English speaking students If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, participants will be selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their grades, motivation, and other factors. |

Expenses | Approx. 650,000 yen *Includes round-trip airfare, homestay fee, English language training fee, and other expenses *Other personal expenses (food, sightseeing, etc.) *Varies depending on the number of participants and exchange rate. |
Scholarship | JASSO scholarship (180,000 yen), which is non-repayable, will be provided to those who meet the requirements. |
Others | ・Buddies will be formed with UQ students who are scheduled to visit Kyushu University in June and July, and will be able to interact with students in both Japan and Australia. ・Participants in this program are required to attend the pre-departure training and English training before leaving Japan. ・Upon returning to your home country, you will be required to submit a report. In addition, you may be asked to participate in follow-up activities and debriefing sessions, such as cooperating with international exchange activities conducted by the Faculty of Agriculture, the Graduate School of Bioresource and Environmental Studies, etc. (publicity activities for the Short-Term Study Abroad Program and support for international students). ・Passports are required by Monday, June 16, 2025. It takes about two weeks to obtain one, so please apply as soon as possible and contact us if you have not yet obtained one. |
