International Graduate Program

Overview of the course

Kyushu University provides unique education and research programs through the Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences. The International Graduate Program is a special program that is entirely taught in English in both the Master's and Doctoral courses. This program has been available since October 1994 and leads to a Master of Science(M.Sc) or a Doctor of Philosophy (Agricultural Science) degree upon completion.

The IGP Master's course begins in October, which is different from the standard Japanese taught program that starts in April. The Doctoral course, on the other hand, starts either in the autumn term in October or the spring term in April.

Some common features of both the Master's and Doctoral programs include:
1.All coursework is conducted entirely in English.
2.Students conduct research in their supervisor's laboratory throughout the course and submit a thesis based on their research to the Department. An appropriate degree is awarded upon meeting the requirements.
3.Although not mandatory, students have the opportunity to learn the Japanese language during their studies.
